Custom house number frame
This custom piece was made for a friend who had purchased the sought after house number tiles from Derby Pottery in New Orleans, LA. She wanted a metal housing made for them and asked me to design something. This is what I came up with. It has the fleur de lis of Louisiana, along with decorative lines. I fabricated the frame using 14 gauge steel and angle iron.

Front of the frame. I left the metal in its raw state with buffing marks and all to give it a more rustic feel, as requested. Of course it can later be painted.
Rear of the frame - The guides for the removable tiles help offset the whole frame from the wall.
A proof I sent to my client for approval for the design.

Detail of the tile guides. I wanted the tiles to be easily removable in case the owner moves.
